MR. JOHN ODAH

Mr. John Odah is presently the General-Secretary of the Nigerian Labour Congress. He graduated from the University of Jos with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. He obtained his M.Sc in Political Sociology. He is a member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Mr. John Odah is an Alternate Worker Delegate of the International Labour Organisation, he is a member of the General council of International Trade Union Confederation, the Vice President of International Trade Union Confederation, African Region and the Secretary General, Alumni Association of the National Institute. He is a member of the National Labour Advisory Council, a director of Urban Development Bank of Nigeria, a Member of the Presidential Committee on Electoral Reform and Director on the Board of Trustfund Pension Plc.

He has at various times served as the Assistant Secretary General, Alumni Association of the national Institute, Vice President of the International Trade Union Confederation, African Region and he was a member of the Governing Board, Micheal Imodu Institute of Labour Studies. He has spent the last 22 years working with the Nigeria Labour Congress in various capacities after a brief stint in the banking industry.
